Is there anyone out there sideroblastic anemia, or know someone who has? My friend was diagnosed with it and it's really funny. We wonder if anyone out there that some experience with what they can tell us what to expect in the coming years.

Sideroblastic anemia is a group of diseases of the blood in which the body is able enough iron, do not use it to hemoglobin, the oxygen is transported in the blood. Therefore, iron accumulates in the mitochondria of the red blood cells, which sideroblasts appear from the base-ring (ring). There are three categories of sideroblastic anemia: inherited and acquired), idiopathic (of unknown origin. Signs and symptoms can vary from mild to severe and include fatigue, difficulty breathing and weakness. Liver or spleen may also occur. In severe cases, an increased concentration of iron in the blood can lead to heart disease, liver damage and kidney failure.
